Our tag line “Where kids have fun while leaning” is not just a tag line but a mission to equip our young guests of the ranch with a rich experience of having fun while learning. Rancho de la Sombra is a nurturing caring environment.
Our program will include four units: “Sports”, “Natives and Pioneers”, “Equestrian” and “Life on the Ranch & Farm.” The programs allow for two different approaches. The first is campers that come to be immersed in a particular focus area, such as sports or equestrian. While they will receive instruction and experience in these areas, all campers will have some time to spend in each of the other focus areas as well, which will provide a more varied learning and growing experience.
The second approach will be to have the campers spend one day in each of the four units to give them a broader but not such an in-depth experience.
At Rancho de la Sombra, we offer seasonal day workshops for families and school groups and 4-day camps during the spring and summer months for campers in the greater San Diego, Imperial and northern Mexico areas, as well as those traveling greater distances.
